Bob, me, will be playing two solo shows in January. They are as follows:

We’re playing this. July 21st.

And, we’re playing with The Ambulars and Fell Types. So, that’s exciting!

“These Bikes Are Silver. Her Bed is Hers” from 2003 MNML [Video]

I still have no idea who put this together, but pretty sure the footage was culled from Syd Savy Fav when we went on tour with those youngsters.

2001 Live Recording of SPRCSS on WPRB

April 13, 2011

"Not very good. Turn it off."

Click the following red text to hear a live in-studio SPRCSS session from 2001 on Jon Solomon’s WPRB radio show. Very skeletal with lots of crackly Moog manipulations that failed to cover up how awful we actually were that day.

Skip ahead to 16:20 to hear a pretty decent version of “The Worst Of 71 42″ from the album More Me. Julian’s glitch is pretty murder.

At 19:15 there’s a version of a song that never got an official title, though it’s listed as “Pop Rocks” on Jon’s site. Not sure why. Anyway, Daneil always hated the song, and so it was never released or played again. There’s a basement recording out there somewhere.

A Couple Photos from The Ex Show in DC

The Black Cat is tan

Music photographer Josh Sisk (also of the Washington Post) took some pics of our show with the very important The Ex. You can view them through his flickr account here, and read an unrelated guide to holding an Immediatist Potlatch written by Hakim Bey by clicking on any of the links just linked.

Review and Photos of Baltimore Show

March 16, 2011

Many thanks to writer Michael Darpino for his review of our show at The Wind-Up Space in Baltimore, and for his stellar photographics.

Many many thanks to cartoonist Eamon Espey for making the flier for this show, which was a total surprise to see when I arrived. Please check out his book Worm Dye and his numerous zines, all of which are beautifully and uncomfortably inspirational, and published or sold by Secret Acres. As it were, SA also publishes works by Theo Ellsworth, who is fantastic, and whose mind-grapes are well juicy.

Geo-sociological question: While driving through B’more I noticed a number of people wagging in a downward fashion their index finger at me as I passed. It seemed like they were trying to flag me for a ride. Is that possible? Does anyone know what this is all about? It happened quite a few times.
